RENTAL LOCATION @ West Shore State Park, Flathead Lake, MT

West Shore State Park is approximately 5 miles south of Lakeside on Flathead Lake.

Amenities: At all rental locations, we rent single or tandem kayaks, as well as paddleboards, perfect for any adventure. Each rental includes a paddle and a life jacket.  Our equipment rentals are within 20 feet of the launching area for your convenience. There are small rocky beaches, a picnic area with tables, parking, boat and trailer parking, and restroom building. Camping is available at West Shore State Park.

 

One of the reasons this location is popular with paddlers, is the various islands not too far from shore. 

These tandem kayaks are very stable and easy to paddle for beginning kayakers. Sit on tops are great for enjoying the water and the sun on the lake!

Tandem (2 person) Kayaks 

These paddleboards are very stable and ideal for vacation paddlers. They are a bit wider than other paddleboards, which makes them great for flat water to moderate windy conditions. They are suitable for one adult or a larger child and may sometimes be used with one adult and one toddler-sized child. Because of their size, these paddleboards are also suitable for larger and/or taller paddlers.

Stand-Up Paddleboards

These kayaks are very stable for touring kayaks. They are best for kayakers with some experience. They have two adjustable foot pegs for proper fitting and comfortable seats. They have two dry hatches for storing gear.

Intuit 12.6' Sit-In Kayaks

These kayaks are very stable for touring kayaks. They are a bit longer and heavier than our other sit-on-top kayaks, which makes them track better. They are suitable for one adult or a larger child and may sometimes be used with one adult and one toddler-sized child. Because of their size, these kayaks are also suitable for larger and/or taller paddlers.

Temptation 10' Sit-On Top Kayaks (Fishing Capable)

Pedal boats are a ton of fun! They are great for exploring the lakeshore in relatively calm wind conditions. Holds two adults and two small children. Weight limit: 500 pounds.

Pedal Boat

This kayak is very stable and is equipped with fishing features. The Pompano 120 has adjustable pegs for your legs, which makes this kayak extremely comfortable. It is bit longer and heavier than our other sit-on-top kayaks, which makes them track better. Because of the size, this kayak is also suitable for larger and/or taller paddlers.

  • What should I wear?
    The short answer is wear layers! You can add or remove clothing if the weather changes or if you start to work up a sweat. We recommend: base layer under shirt and under pants boots top layer of quick dry pants or snow pants fleece top waterproof coat waterproof gloves (we provide hand warmers if requested) neck gator/balaclava/scarf hat sunglasses (forgot to put that in the picture!)
  • What should I bring for a day tour?
    Outdoor clothing including: hat, waterproof gloves, sunglasses and snow boots Camera A great attitude and an appetite for adventure!
  • What about transportation? Is there a shuttle?
    Transportation to and from lodging is provided for all tours. We will call you to arrange the pick up. Depending on the size of the group we have different sizes of vehicles. Our largest vehicle holds up to 15 people.
  • What does Tour Glacier provide for a day tour?

  • Will I see wildlife?
    Our tour guides probably don't count as wildlife, but they come close! There is always a chance to see many of Mother Nature's creations.
